Vision problems can develop so gradually that we may not realize the problem until it is quite bad. I had a cataract develop rapidly (9 months) in my right eye. I could look up at a star filled sky, cover my good eye and see only one or two of the brightest stars. Dr. Tate removed the cataract and my vision cleared up immediately. I only missed one day of work and could not be happier with the results.
My experience at NVEC was extremely positive. Like most patients, I was nervous and apprehensive about having cataract surgery. Afterall, it was my eyes! However, upon arriving at the facility, I noticed how beautiful, clean and state-of-the-art it was. I was greeted by friendly and caring personnel who directed me to their technicians who guided me gently through all the various tests. I then saw Dr. Ttae who has a wonderful bedside manner. He explained what he was going to do, and even drew diagrams to help me understand my surgery. Their nurse anesthetist was very comforting explaining step by step what to expect. The day of surgery went exactly as planned. In the pre-op area, Dr. Tate came in to see me and said “we’re going to take good care of you and you’re going to love the results.” Well, Dr. Tate was absolutely right! He took wonderful care of me, and I LOVE the results. I could not be happier! I highly recommend NVEC to anyone needing cataract surgery.

I was apprehensive about my cataract surgery, as I have never had surgery in 64 years. Even though New Vision is over 40 miles from home, I decided to go for it. I was pleasantly surprised at the thoughtfulness of the staff, at their professionalism, and at their care. As for the surgery, I remember asking Dr. Tate when it would be starting…to be told it was done.
My vision has greatly improved following cataract surgery with Dr. Tate. I now only use reading glasses for the small print in the newspaper. I thank New Vision Eye Center for my distance vision.
My cataract surgery with Dr. Tate went very smoothly and I experienced no pain at all. I have been legally blind for my whole life and relied on very thick glasses and contact lenses to help me see. I was examined by Dr. Reinauer and it was deemed I needed immediate cataract surgery or I might lose sight in my right eye. A surgery was performed by Dr. Tate and everything turned out great. New Vision is the best.

I had cataract surgery in May 2016 because I had trouble reading the signs while driving. It was a miracle after the surgery. I could see distance again and read the newspaper without “readers”. Dr. Stephen Tate and all the staff did an excellent job of making me feel comfortable and satisfied..

I have worn glasses since I was about 5 years old, so severely nearsighted that I was blind without them. Then I developed glaucoma, and my eyesight got worse. From there I developed cataracts, and I was really frightened that I would lose what little sight I had. Dr. Tate at New Vision Eye Center said that he couldn’t guarantee that I would have better vision, but he would do his best. My vision is now 20/25 in my right eye and my left eye is 20/20. This truly is a miracle! I can see clearly now without glasses or contacts. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and still in shock. Dr. Tate and New Vision Eye Center have given me the ability to see with such clarity and focus without any correction – and I am forever grateful.
